A key to the Middle East situation.
I
still believe that the answer to the whole situation of
unrest in the Middle East lays firmly at the door of Israel,
and the sooner the situation is cleared up and two independent
States are established the better chance the world will
have of returning to a more peaceful existence.
It is over thirty years since United Nations resolution
242 called upon Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories.
Did the United States support that resolution? It is so
long ago that I do not know, but I do know that the United
States have supported Israel with annual monetary hand
outs for over 50 years since the British Government decided
to pull out of the country, which in those days was named
Palestine.
Words of wisdom from an unknown American soldier.
A CNN reporter recently asked an American soldier
fighting in the Iraqi Desert as to what his opinion were
with respect to the anti-war demonstrations going on in
the United States of America and this was his enlightened
answer. "As Americans
they are entitled to their own opinions. Isn’t that
why we are all over here and going into combat to defend
their right to free speech and express their opinions?
I may not agree with them, but I will fight for their
right to express their opinions in any way they want".
Well said young man! America should be very proud of this
young soldier and all military personnel who believe in
the rights of free speech and are fighting for that right.
