An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Last word;
For all those who have died in the cities, or
on the battlefields of this world, I offer my condolences
to their families and friends and would like to include
this poem as a salute to both friend and foe. (One must
remember that they have families too).
A salute of farewell.
To live a life so basic in its essence,
So faithful to the immortal beliefs of kindness given
and received, in a world so beset with human violence,
Free from the evil influences practiced upon this grain
of universal sand,
With hopes of eternal peace derived from a life on this
earth befitting the destiny bestowed upon this mortal
man,
It is with no regret that at the time of departure I raise
my hand in a salute of farewell to the people that I have
loved so faithfully and hopefully have served so well
Thought for today.
Question: Can the pre-emptive strikes against Iraq by
the coalition forces, and the subsequent killing of many
Iraqi civilians, be construed as barbaric acts of criminal
intent, (as stated by many of the Muslim and Arab countries),
and therefore be classified as war crimes for which the
people responsible for commanding these acts of violence
can be tried as war criminals?
I remember the Nuremberg trials - The question is, does
the current generation.
Comment: America has probably the largest arsenal of Weapons
of Mass Destruction, (WMD), and what better place in the
world to test out these weapons on targets of opportunity,
than the deserts of Iraq. Remember the Spanish Civil War.
