John writes from Canada: (In reply to the
January 2005 edition).
Why should Christmas be a time of peace and goodwill amongst men? Here we go
again suggesting that all the worlds' people should observe a Christian
holiday. Why do we not express the same sentiments when the Moslems celebrate
Ramadan or the Hindu’s celebrate Deepavali?
American’s espouse a
superior attitude that pervades their society as it is their way of life and
therefore in their opinion it must be the best, so they think that everybody
else should embrace the same way of life and act accordingly. I know that it
is only a Christian religious sentiment but it is the same attitude that is trying
to force American style democracy onto people who do not wish to embrace American
style democracy.
Which brings me to the point that American style democracy
is really another one of those utopian dreams that American
people like to think is factual. For instance, try practicing
freedom of speech in today’s United States and
parade around with a placard praising Islam and decrying Christianity and see
how far you get before the law descends upon you with drawn guns and incarcerates
you in the nearest jail. Then to add insult to injury they add on the tag of
terrorism, which can keep you in jail without access to a lawyer and due process.
Democracy - hah!!!
We wonder why Islam is spreading so rapidly. Personally
I think that it is a revolt against the American way
of life which has to all purposes become the western
way of life and has spread the so-called rights of the
individual which have been blown out of all proportion
and have brought about a failure of discipline in all
facets of life where morals have been thrown out the
window in a search for pervasive pleasures of the flesh
and a cult of materialism. All of this has become an
anathema to the Moslem way of life, and also the same
feelings are spreading to the western world, which is
observing that perhaps adherence to the strict principals
of the Moslem religion may be a way of returning to some
form of normalcy in a chaotic and undisciplined world.
Can we expect the Moslem way of life to have any great
influence or impact upon American society? In time,
possibly the answer is yes.
In Europe, and particularly England, there is a great influx of people practicing
the Moslem faith and these people are not making any effort to integrate into
British society but are settling in enclaves, (ghetto’s), in the cities
which are becoming "no-go" areas for non-Moslem people, and the
rules and language of the Koran are practiced.
This is a small beginning, but
with the constant influx of recruits to the faith and continued migration into
these areas it is only a time before Islam becomes the established religion,
and the language of the Koran becomes the second official language of the country.
It will not necessarily happen overnight, but perhaps within a century or
so, (which is a relatively short time in the history and development of mankind),
the spread of the Moslem faith and the takeover by the Islam religion and its
followers may become a creeping and unstoppable tide in the domination of many
countries of this world. In fact it has already spread to the United States
where there are many practicing Moslems, and a number of mosques have already
been established,
My comment:
I would suggest that John’s words
are in answer to my observations in a paragraph entitled,
"The current rise in the number of members of the Muslim
religion",
which was published in the January
2005 edition of “View
from America”.
How can I answer such words of wisdom as they give a credible and lucid picture
of situations that could come about in the very near future where civil liberties
and human rights will be severely curtailed on a worldwide basis, and freedom
of the individual will be practically non-existent under "Big Brother" type
regimes.
Before anyone gets up on a soapbox and decries John’s words
as propaganda coming from an Islamic source I would like to state that John
is a true ex-Brit and a long-term British ex-soldier who has fought in many
lands trying to establish peace in our time. To the best of my knowledge John
has no leanings towards or against the followers of Islam, as he has described
himself as a former Christian - who is now a professional atheist. Welcome
to the club John.
