An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Thought for today!!!
Has the war started already?
Did I miss it?
The
bombing of so-called anti-aircraft sites in the northern
and southern Iraqi ‘"NO-FLY" zones has
stepped up considerably during the last few months with
daily raids being conducted by American and British aircraft
in what may be considered a softening up process prior
to the real thing.
Mr. Bush made up his mind a long time ago that America
was going to war with Iraq and has been looking for a
plausible excuse to release the dogs of war.
Whether
you are in agreement or not, I believe that war with Iraq
is inevitable. The reasons currently given as to why America
should go to war, such as the existence of chemical, biological,
and nuclear weapons, and whether Saddam Hussein has the
intention of using such weapons, appears to be only a
peripheral excuse when considered the major gains to be
made by defeating Iraq and taking over their oil producing
capability.
In their determination to acquire and secure the substantial
oil reserves that exist in Iraq, one would assume that
American oil companies, who covet this liquid gold would
do virtually anything in their power to get their hands
on such liquid wealth.
When will the real war start - well if you believe in
astronomy/astrology forecasts, (or whatever), maybe a
good time, (if there is a good time to start a war), would
be between the advent of the full moon on the 18th of
January 2003 and President’s Day on the 17th of
February 2003.
Any thoughts on the subject?
