Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(Christmas 2003)
An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Preamble:
I decided that in this edition I would try a different
approach and instead of writing about politicians and
their political warmongering shenanigans, that I would
veer off in the opposite direction and present my views
of what maybe could be done to possibly avert, or perhaps
a better word would be to control, future wars.
So for the readers of this news letter in UK, I would
suggest that after a couple of pints at the local on Christmas
day, followed by a hearty Christmas dinner, with your
feet up in front of the blazing Yule logs, what better
time for the insomniacs amongst you to drift off into
a comfortable snooze, for if the beer and the festive
atmosphere doesn’t put to you to sleep then I’m
sure that this epistle will.
Holiday Message:
Sheena and I wish everyone, regardless of race, religion,
or creed, where so ever they may be located in this troubled
world, a happy, healthy, and festive holiday season free
from the wars and killing that currently beset this world.
We hope that the New Year will bring some semblance of
world peace and that rational and civil behaviour between
nations will replace the violence and bloodshed that we
have experienced throughout the early part of this new
century.
