An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Thought for today:
I know that many of you have not a clue about
United States Presidential elections, and obviously care
much less, although when I was in UK recently I was asked
several times why we didn’t bring back President
Bill Clinton to replace the idiot that you currently have
in power - your words not mine.
So I thought that before I leave you to your festive thoughts
and deeds that I would just place before you a prediction,
(based upon current political machinations), that a possible
Presidential Democratic ticket of Howard Dean, (the ex-Governor
of Vermont - who appears to be leading the pack of Presidential
hopefuls for the Democratic Party bid for the next Presidency),
and say maybe, perhaps, Hillary Clinton as Vice President
would appear, (if no monkey wrenches are thrown into the
arena between now and November 2004), to stand a fighting
chance of succeeding our current President.
Breaking News:
Dateline: Baghdad, Iraq. Sunday 14th December
2003.
American sources in Iraq stated today that Saddam Hussein
had been captured, without one shot being fired, in the
village of Ad Dwar, which is located approximately ten
miles from Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit.
Seeing that Saddam Hussein has so many doubles, and with
so many mistakes having been made in the past, I am loathe
to make a full report on the incident until complete confirmation
has been made, so I will reserve judgement on the story
until complete DNA testing has confirmed the proof of
identity.
American officials have yet to decide whether to hand
the captive over to Iraqi officials who want him to stand
trial before a war crimes tribunal.
Disclaimer.
Some of the information gathered for this news
letter has been gleaned from American and International
media sources, (including the Internet), and as such is
quoted as accurately as possible. I try to obtain confirmation
from several outlets, so the text is a mixture of composite
news items and personal comments and therefore the reader
must make his/her judgement as to the reliability and
degree of accuracy of the subjects discussed.
