Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(February 2003)
An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
I decided to start the new year by trying to stay away
from politics, politicians, war games, the White House,
the corrupt practices of big business, and all the other
current dangers of this world we live in, as I’m
sure that the readers of these news letters have had enough,
(well—for the time being at least), of hearing the
daily TV utterings, meanderings, the war mongering threats
of the man "who apparently aspires to become the
King of the Middle East oil fields", and the actions
of his cohorts in crime with their apparent ambitious
attempts at colonial world domination!!! So instead, I
thought that I would tackle some different subjects -
war permitting.
I recently watched a TV preview promoting a semi-documentary
about the Kennedy family. The announcer said that the
Kennedy Clan was the nearest thing in America to royalty.
Really? We have been resident in the United States for
thirty five years and I have yet to find anything remotely
resembling royalty. What has this got to do with anything
- well I had to start somewhere didn’t I - and this
came to mind, so why not.
