Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(February 2005)
An ex-Brit gives his views---(without
fear or favor)---of the American scene.
It
must be pretty obvious to the discerning reader, that
as I publish each of these newsletters at the beginning
of the month, a majority of the news items are from the
previous month. (In this case, news and comments are
for the month of January 2005).
Preface:
This newsletter describes, amongst other subjects,
the inauguration of President Bush for his second four-year
term in office and what he has said that he intends to
accomplish in those next four years. I was going to reiterate
some of the huge mistakes this President and his entourage
have made during his first term in office for comparison
purposes, but I’m sure that you are aware of most
of them and possibly do not really give a damn. May
I suggest that not caring about the errors committed
by the United States administration and its political
machine could be a big mistake, as many of the decisions
made in America, (which are now affecting the American
people), will eventually filter down through International
channels and will have severe adverse repercussions on
global security and finance - especially if President
Bush continues to threaten Iran with possible military
strikes if they do not discontinue unproven nuclear weapons
programs.
I must mention that when I quote remarks made by third parties I try to be as
accurate as possible.
