Bill Sykes' Newsletter
from America.
(Summer 2003)
An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Rewards and retributions.
America has started to hand out kudos to nations
who supported the Coalition war against Iraq such as Australia,
Poland, etc. with visits to the White House in Washington
D.C. and the Bush ranch at Crawford in Texas, and at the
same time has started to belittle nations such as France
and others who took up a strong positions and stance against
the war.
For
instance, Poland has been named as an emerging power in
Europe and given the dubious honour of being assigned
as peace keepers for the northern zone of Iraq, (home
of the nomadic, volatile, and unpredictable Kurdish Nation).
Tell me, since when has Poland become an emerging power
in Europe, and correct me if I’m wrong but I’m
given to understand that Poland has only a few thousand
troops under arms, so how could they possibly police the
northern Iraqi state of Kurdistan.
In retribution against nations who supported America’s
war against Iraq, terrorist organisations have selected
several locations, such as Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Morocco,
as part of the continuation of terrorist activities against
the United States and its citizens abroad. I hate to say
this, but even the United Kingdom may not be immune from
future attacks of retribution.
