Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(June 2005)
An ex-Brit gives his views---(without
fear or favor)---of the American scene.
It
must be pretty obvious to the discerning reader, that
as I publish each of these newsletters at the beginning
of the month, a majority of the news items are from the
previous month. (In this case, news and comments are
for the month of May 2005).
Preface:
Greetings from Maryland. I’d like to say
that I was out here to visit the Administration in Washington
D.C. with a mission to try to correct some of the unbelievable
and tragic mistakes made by the current President and his
entourage during the last five years.
They
have created an enormous financial debt that even Professor
Einstein, with all his mathematical genius, could not derive
a formula to get us out of this terrible financial quagmire
that we are currently in. I’m afraid that the President,
and the rest of the members of the Administration have
propelled the people of America into a devastating financial
situation that will take several years and a miracle to
bring this nation back onto a somewhat stable financial
footing.
There is of course a far worse tragedy associated
with the mismanagement by this Administration - the dreadful
loss of young American and Allied lives in the Middle East
wars currently being fought for the wrong reasons, with
no end in sight and no political gains made, which far
outweigh any monetary losses being incurred.
We welcome feedback about any of the contents
of these newsletters. Please send all correspondence
