fear or favor) - of the American Scene
Spend,
Spend, Spend.
The Senate Armed Service Committee recently approved a defence authorization
bill of $446 Billion for fiscal year 2006.
The bill, which has to be approved by the Senate, includes $50 Billion in supplemental
funding to support on-going operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, which is in addition
to the prior $82 Billion emergency war-spending bill, which had been approved
by Congress and the President.
To call this an emergency war spending bill, is preposterous, farcical, and outrageous
when you come to consider the current situation in this country where millions
of people have no health care insurance---now that is an emergency---how many
ways can I say this in order to indicate to the administration that the external
spending currently going on has got to stop and more money has to be used to
support the poor and aging people of this country.
In the past few days President Karzai of Afghanistan,
and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, have both
visited the White House, and our President has generously
handed out multi-million packages of our hard earned tax dollars to both of
these individuals. When are these monetary give-away
programs to so-called foreign leaders going to stop.
I would suggest to this President and his Administration
that the time has come for America to stop intervening
in the business other Nations and start by getting their
own house in order before criticizing others and trying
to police the world at large.
