An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
The money tree.
Mr. Bush has stated that after a war with Iraq, America
will provide financial aid to rebuild Iraq.
Question: Where will he find the money to rebuild America?
I
wish Mr. Bush would provide financial aid to the American
States and the people of America, who are really being
burdened by the economic situation that has developed
under his Presidency, before giving huge financial handouts
to what appears to be every country asking for financial
aid. "Charity begins at home".
The American States in particular are reeling under the
costs of providing funding and manpower for Home Land
Security, in addition to other financial problems. California
in particular has a $30B deficit. Guess who’s going
to foot the bill, the good old and impoverished taxpayer.
It’s no good Mr. Bush coming up with all these
proposed tax cuts whilst at the same time spending billions
of dollars to promote a war with Iraq, this does not balance
the books it only makes the countries financial situation
a potential disaster.
If the White House Administration and Congress do not
control the run away deficit spending I’m afraid
that the phrase "God Bless America" may change
to "Job less America" and we will return to
the double digit inflation of the 1970s
