An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
Same Sex Marriages.
You obviously have by now read or heard of the
current rush by gay couples to enter into same-sex marriages.
Only certain cities in certain States have so far considered
authorizing same-sex marriages. A Judge in San Francisco
authorized ceremonies where gay couples in their hundreds,
(nay thousands), stood in long lines to go before a Justice
of the Peace, or whom-so-ever, to take their marriage
vows and become joined in not so holy matrimony!!!
I
have no problem with what mature adults do consensually
behind close doors, as long as there is no violence involved,
as it is none of my business.
I do however object when sexual relationships are openly
flaunted in public places, and that goes for heterosexuals
as well as homosexuals and bi-sexuals.
I have always assumed that the institution of marriage
was initiated between male and female with a view to procreation
and the production of children in order to expand the
human species and populate this grain of sand we call
Earth.
One would assume that you remember the biblical story
of the creation of Adam and Eve, and all that other fantasy
stuff.
Regardless of the advances in medical technology and
science, it still takes male sperm and female eggs to
produce children - so why do some people prefer same-sex
marriages - perhaps it is a financial ploy by same-sex
couples in order to obtain equal benefits currently enjoyed
by heterosexual married couples, which they say that they
are currently excluded from. Perhaps if same-sex couples
obtain the right to marry they will also assume the rights
to divorce, which in general include the payment of alimony
and child support that is of course assuming they are
allowed to adopt children.
I’m afraid that I am not fully conversant with adoption
laws applicable to same sex couples.
The State of California is challenging the legality of
these so-called same-sex marriages, and I believe that
the eventual outcome will be that these marriages will
be declared to be illegal under the current laws appertaining
to the provision of marriage licences, and that the licences/certificates
already approved will become invalid.
Sexual promiscuity:
Whilst on the subject of sexual preferences it
behoves me to mention sexual abuse cases, which have come
to light over the past several years, involving a number
of members of Priesthood and the Clergy who have been
accused of involvement in sexual incidents with young
members of their congregation. The church hierarchy, much
to the disgust of many parishioners and the public at
large, have apparently protected known sexual predators
within their Diocese and conveniently transferred the
offenders to far away places in order to avoid scandal
and possible prosecution.
Sexual
promiscuity has been increasingly fostered by many media
sources in the showing of sexually explicit pornographic
films and photographs, which include the performance of
perverted sexual acts. These films are readily obtainable
on TV in many of the leading hotel chains. Television
programs, magazines, tabloid newspapers, and of course
the Internet, have reached a dangerous stage in the promotion
of abnormal sex acts.
Paedophiles are increasing in numbers on an exponential
scale and are using the Internet to contact unsuspecting
minor children to arrange sexual assignations. The world
is obsessed with sex, and consequently sexually transmitted
diseases such as HIV positive, (leading to full blown
AIDS), have reached epidemic proportions which is killing
millions of people worldwide.
As I said previously, I am not a prude by any means
and I don’t give a damn about sexual acts that go
on behind closed doors between consenting adults, as it
is none of my business, but I am thoroughly disgusted
and horrified by the widespread sexual abuse of children.
