An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
The Universe as we currently know it:
I saw an article the other day, which claimed
that the expansion of the Universe is accelerating, not
slowing down as was once envisaged by scientists. So the
question now arises as to whether the "BIG BANG"
theory has any validity?
The expansion is causing the galaxies to be pushed apart
which may give a prediction that the outward explosive
force is causing a runaway Universe some degree of authenticity.
The mysterious forces controlling the Milky Way galaxy,
(with its dark matter and dark energy being dominant forces),
are raising fundamental questions as to what the future
holds for the Humanoid species. It has been said that
"black holes", of enormous size, located trillions
of light years away from our own galaxy, which have the
enormous power to swallow gigantic stars, (which are millions
of times larger in size than our grain of sand), if the
stars in question orbit too close to the black hole’s
immense internal power source they are in imminent danger
of being sucked into an extremely powerful force field
and completely destroyed. Well that’s the theory.
Putting things into perspective: Having very little
if any specialized knowledge of the Universe, and having
an abundance of gross ignorance about such things, I find
myself encumbered with the problematic statement, "That
a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing", and
believe me I have very little knowledge of the tremendous
events that may in the next million years or so cause
the Earth to self destruct and go hurtling off into outer
space and dissolve in a ball of fire.
Entertaining stuff this forecasting what MAY happen millions
of years hence.
Perhaps that would solve all our humanoid problems. That
of course is if we haven’t self-destructed in the
meantime.
As I won’t be around to witness such a catastrophic
event, then I decline to worry about such a happening
and will concentrate on trying to live a healthy, wholesome,
and carefree existence in my state of gross ignorance.
Reality check: People have a tendency to believe that
our Earth is immortal, so don’t get me wrong when
I say that, "I’m quite happy living in a encapsulated
vacuum of mental space, deplorably void of an informed
education which has deprived me of the intelligence, and
the knowledge, to be able to contradict them".
