The February 2005
Super Bowl:
I’m sure that this item is of no relative interest
or importance to you, so I’m going to cut it short.
I watched various segments of the game between the New
England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles, which took
place on Sunday the 6th of February 2005, and ended
in a win for the Patriots by 24 points to 21 points.
There are occasions, when I have nothing better to do,
that I watch the odd game of American football and I
have always maintained that the last five minutes of
many of the games are the most interesting and this was
no exception, as the rest of the game was shall I say
more than a little boring to this soccer fan who enjoys
the constant end to end play not interrupted by the constant
TV advertisements.
The game kicked off at 3:30 pm California
time and terminated thankfully between 7:00/7:30pm, so
it took nearly four hours to play four fifteen minute
quarters interspersed by the ever present and extremely
frequent advertisements.
Comment: If you really want to know the ins and outs
of American football, perhaps you should force yourself
to read the excellent article, (even though I say it
myself), that I wrote about the last Super Bowl played
in Houston, Texas, in February of last year, and if you
are really interested in sport, (or the lack of it),
I would suggest the article has much information which
could be instrumental in educating yourself to what the
game is all about.
The article can be found under the heading "Sex
and violence",
(I figured that would get your attention), in the March 2004 edition of "View
from America", which is published on the www.huddersfield1.co.uk website.
