An ex-Brit gives his views - (without
fear or favor) - of the American Scene
The rising
cost of living in America:
The
daily increase in the price of gasoline in America
is finally taking its toll on the general public, due
to the fact that gasoline products affect every aspect
of everyday life. The price of oil and petroleum products
has nearly doubled during this Presidents term in office,
and during the last few days he has been promoting
an amazing solution to solving the energy program problems
by initiating a multi-billion dollar tax giveaway program
to guess who - why the American oil companies, and
other special interest groups of course, who incidentally
are currently making the largest profits in history.
He stated that the tax giveaway, (and there are no other words for this ludicrous
hand out), would encourage the oil companies to produce more gasoline and therefore
would benefit consumers by reducing the price of gas at the pump.
During this President’s nefarious reign, the
price of oil and gasoline products have just about doubled,
and yet fuel efficiency standards of the modern day automobile
have been totally disregarded by many of the American
automobile manufacturers and the continuous production of enormous gas guzzling
machines, such as the Hummer, continue to be advertised on a daily basis.
Some companies are making an effort to produce gas efficient
hybrid cars, with fuel-efficient engines, but the price
of these automobiles in general is currently too expensive
for many of the general public.
I really do not know how this President manages to
come up with these ridiculous ideas, unless of course
he is being coached by the Vice President, who’s
close association with the Halliburton Oil and Gas conglomerate has yet to
be challenged.
I would suggest that if Congress passes this controversial
bill that it will not benefit the general public at large
and may even initially increase gas prices at the pump
not decrease them.
