Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(May 2005)
An ex-Brit gives his views---(without
fear or favor)---of the American scene.
It
must be pretty obvious to the discerning reader, that
as I publish each of these newsletters at the beginning
of the month, a majority of the news items are from the
previous month. (In this case, news and comments are
for the month of April 2005).
Preface:
I think that perhaps I will dedicate
this edition to certain aspects of the American way of
life as seen by an ex-Brit over the last thirty eight years
by taking a look at the apparent, "Win at all costs" syndrome,
the "I’ve gotta have it" syndrome, corruption
in high places, (especially in the corporate offices),
the "Anything goes syndrome", (where a lack
of discipline is undermining law and order), plus another
look at how religion, (dictated by the old white haired
men of the Vatican enclave in Rome), is affecting the people
of this world.
We welcome feedback about any of the contents
of these newsletters. Please send all correspondence
to bill_sykes@huddersfield1.co.uk
