Bill Sykes' - In Retrospect
XVIII.
(May 2009)
Bill
Sykes looks back in retrospect at material which has
been published in previous editions of "View from
America", in an attempt to determine whether the
subject matter written then is still applicable in
today’s world.
Article #18E. (May 2009)
Photographs taken of Holocaust victims - by
order of General Dwight D Eisenhower.
WARNING!
Many readers could become very distressed if they viewed the photographs which
are very graphic and horrific in nature and therefore it is suggested that if
the reader has any doubts about their possible reaction then the photographs
should not be viewed.
After visiting and viewing the carnage of several concentration camps, General
Dwight D Eisenhower gave the order to make many films and photographs of the
victims of the Holocaust.
I must warn readers that the photographs that are included in this article are
very graphic in detail and are in many cases so horrific that they are not for
viewing by younger persons or faint hearted adults as they are very distressing.
I must correct one report that was circulated adjacent to one of the photographs,
which states that the United Kingdom government had erased details of the Holocaust
from the British school curriculum, because, "It offended the Muslim population
beliefs that the Holocaust never took place".
Apparently this was totally incorrect and the British Government apparently issued
a rebuttal statement to the effect that it was a case of over reporting by UK
newspapers that caused the fabrication to be circulated.
