An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear or favor)---of the American Scene

Stop Press.
This note was received today Friday the 12th of April 2003 from a UK source, and I thought that I would share it with you.
"It has been suggested that the United States has decided to divide Iraq into three sectors; Leaded, Unleaded, and Diesel".
Comment: So, was it about oil after all. Can one assume that these sectors will be governed by leading UK and American oil companies.

A most important health hazard warning.
SARS TextSevere acute respiratory syndrome, (SARS), a highly contagious respiratory disease, which was stated to have originated in China is sweeping many countries of this world and killing many people in its wake. This disease apparently does not respond to vaccines or other medicines and the World Health Organization is becoming increasingly worried, and for the first time ever has issued a global warning urging travellers to avoid Hong Kong, and the Guangdong Province in China. The number of deaths due to SARS is increasing rapidly worldwide, (currently over 2500 people have been afflicted by the disease), and may become an unstoppable epidemic. The war news has virtually swept this very important health risk off the front pages, but if SARS continues to sicken and kill people of this world, as it currently is continuing to do, it may make the deaths in the current conflict miniscule in comparison. The immediate impact is most severe in the travel and tourism industry and will certainly affect economic growth in East Asia.
