My Initial Comments.
Firstly, I am very pleased that the students
wished to understand what happened during World War Two,
but before I start to answer questions, I would like to
elaborate on two very important things, firstly education,
and secondly knowledge. Education is of prime importance
to the future of the young student in order to learn history
so that they are knowledgeable of things that happened
in the past and then try not to make the same mistakes
in the future.
Wars are fought for many and varied reasons, (or excuses),
religion, territory, power, greed, hatred, oppression,
poverty, etc.
Sometimes war is a necessary and inevitable evil. World
War Two was one of those occasions when the people of
the Free World had to stand up and fight against the forces
of tyranny and oppression regardless of the consequences.
I will group the questions and answers into three different
areas.
a) Life for the people of England during World War Two.
b) Personal participation in World War Two,
c) The Holocaust.
I requested that in return for my answers, the students
should read very carefully the questions, and then should
fully understand the answers given. They should also be
able to give reasons as to why they asked the questions
in the first place.
