An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene

Dateline: 10 September 2003. Beirut, Lebanon.
 Arab
news agency, Al-Jazeera TV, have shown in a video tape
which has just surfaced, video images of Osama bin Laden
and his top aide Ayman al-Zawahri walking through rocky
terrain, (location unknown), and goes on to show Osama
bin Laden and his senior aide sitting upon a hilltop which
has a small cluster of wild flowers in the background.
This would suggest that the video was shot sometime in
the early summer months, as people who have viewed the
video stated that the flowers shown in the video pictures
would not be blooming in mid-September.
In the eight minute unauthenticated video/audio tape,
Osama bin Laden is said to have mentioned five of the
September eleventh terrorists by name. Whether accurate
or not, this tape, (apparently the first to show Osama
bin Laden since the 9th of November 2001), is considered
to be highly symbolic by reason of its release on the
eve of the September eleventh terrorist actions against
America on America’s own soil.
His aide issues the usual threats against the American
Infidels and calls upon all Muslims to continue the Jihad
holy war against them.

It was reported today that an American individual had
transported himself from New York to Dallas in a wooden
container by airfreight. This brings us to the safety
of airline travel. Airline security has so far deterred
and restrained possible hijacking of aircraft by what
on the surface may appear to be stringent passenger identification
with searches of the person and the persons baggage, (amongst
other security measures), but the security searches of
freight, mail, etc which is carried in the holds of passenger
and freighter aircraft appears to be definitely lax, so
much so that terrorist infiltration of food/beverage and
cleaning services, in addition to the handling of, and
access to, freight containers could lead to very serious
breaches of airline security with potential disastrous
and devastating consequences. There are situations, which
I will not go into for obvious reasons, whereby terrorist
cells operating in this country could take full advantage
of security lapses to further their objectives of destroying
American people and American cities.
