An ex-Brit gives his views-(without fear
or favor)---of the American Scene
 The
Rise and Fall of Great Nations.
Without delving too closely into the historic significance
of the great and powerful nations of this world, I decided
to commence this news letter with a brief synopsis of
the rise and fall of the leading nations of the past thousand
years.
These thoughts were generated by a visit of the current
President of the United States, Mr. Bush, to China.
More about this later.
When we go back in history to the conquering colonial
empires of Europe, ( Roman, Russian, British ), and of
the Middle East empires (Ottoman, Greek, Turkish, Egyptian),
we tend to forget one of the greatest empires and civilizations
of the world, namely China.
