Bill Sykes' Newsletter from America.
(November 2004)
An ex-Brit gives his views---(without
fear or favor)---of the American scene.
It must be pretty obvious to the
discerning reader, that as I publish each of these news
letters at the beginning of the month, a majority of
the news items are from the previous month. (In this
case, news and comments are for the month of October
2004).
Preface:
As this is a presidential election year in the
United States, and I have written a number of words in
a past newsletters about the naïve ways that Americans
like to think that they choose their president, I though
that in case of any miss-understanding with respect to
my political leanings it behoves me to refresh your memories
by repeating part of a paragraph that I wrote in a Special
Edition of the Mid-April 2003 newsletter.
So here goes - I do so hope that this repetitive paragraph
does not bore you, as it has a bearing upon which of
the Presidential candidates that I intend voting for
and the reasons why. I will make my decision known at
the end of this news letter.
We welcome feedback about any of the contents
of these newsletters. Please send all correspondence
