America at War.
The President and his advisers are still pushing for the
capture of the figurehead terrorist Osama bin Laden and
the removal and replacement of the Taliban Government.
Question:
Correct me if I'm wrong but was it not the United States
who financed and equipped the Mujahideen, (a coalition of
Afghan rebels), in the fight against the invading Russian
Armies in 1979, and after the Russian Army retreated from
Afghanistan in 1989, did we not place the Taliban Government
in power.
As
I said in a previous communication;
"Yesterdays friends may become tomorrow's enemies".
!!!
As I think about some of the political statements that
have been made concerning punishing not only the terrorists,
but anyone who protects, aids and abets terrorist factions,
I look at the predicament of how we should handle the case
of East Coast Irish groups who have continued to finance
the Irish Republican Army's terrorist actions for many years.
Next, we come to the Israeli situation.
We stood by and watched the Israeli build-up and expansion
of housing settlements on the Golan Heights and the West
Bank, (Territory that was seized from Syria and Jordan during
the seven day war.), without a murmur of disapproval.
It is well known and publicized that the United States
have financed and equipped the Israeli forces for many years.
Should we, the United States, be characterized as a major
part of the Israeli/Arab war problem. !!!
