(Presidential Election Special - 2004)
An ex-Brit gives his views - (without
fear or favor) - of the American Scene
The
Battle for the Presidency:
John Kerry had some good ideas for revamping
the sagging social system in the United States, but
it would appear to many, (even those who supported
him), that unfortunately if he got into power he would
inherit and face such a daunting task in trying to
revive a sagging economy and would be faced with the
huge financial burden of prior fiscal irresponsibility.
Therefore it would have been impossible to bring his proposed social changes
to fruition.
Who
on earth but a masochist would want to take on the responsibility
of being the President of the United States in the sad
state that this country is currently in?
It would appear that the mid-state Bible belt voters were more interested
in religious and social issues than the other major issues facing this nation
and consequently they, and we, now have to face up to four more years of a
president and administration who it would appear from
past experiences gained during the last four years is
leading this country into moral and fiscal bankruptcy.
