Aug 8th
In a round up assembled by the Daily Telegraph, Huddersfield Town
were being qoted at the following odds: To win the Championship,
14-1; To get in to the play-offs, 7-2; to be relegated, 10-1.
Players In: Kevin Sharp (Unattached - free), Eddie
Youds (Charlton - free), Scott Bevan (Southampton - 1 year loan),
Scott McDonald (Southampton - 3 months loan).
Players Out: Delroy Facey (Bolton - tribunal),
Chris Beech (Rochdale), Kevin Gray (Tranmere - free), Martyn Margetson
(Cardiff - free).
Players Released: Jon Dyson, Chris Hay.
Aug 7th
Huddersfield Town managed a 0 - 0 draw with Spanish giants Athletico
Club Bilbao in a pre-season friendly at the McAlpine stadium in
front of a crowd of 5,541.
Aug 5th
Huddersfield Town have signed defender Kevin Sharp on a one-year
contract. Sharp has impressed manager Mick Wadsworth in trials at
the club.
27-year-old Sharp's previous clubs have been Leeds United and Wigan
Athletic.
July 24th
Town play Darlington in the first round of the Worthington Cup at
the McAlpine Stadium. The fixture will take place on Tuesday, September
10 (7.45pm).
July 22nd
Recent results from pre-season friendlies are as follows;
July 20th Lancaster 3 - Huddersfield 1 (Youds)
July 18th Bishop Auckland 0 - Huddersfield 4 (Stead, Senior [2],
Worthington)
July 15th
After failing to agree to a mutually agreeable transfer fee
Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers will have to go before a
tribunal to decide what Bolton pay for the young striker.
July 11th
More activity in the transfer market as Town signed defender
Eddie Youds on a one year contract.
32-year-old Youds was released by Charlton Athletic in May.
July 10th
In keeping with current policy and in a continued frenzy of
activity at the McAlpine stadium it was announced that the Terriers
had signed 22-year -old Mick Wadsworth on loan from Southampton
for a year.
6 ft 6ins Wadsworth would be the most likely player to fill the
position vacated by the departure of Martyn Margetson.
July 9th
38-year-old David Wilkes has been appointed first team coach.
Wilkes was a former colleaugue of Mick Wadsworth at Newcastle United.
July 8th
Mick Wadsworth appointed former Barnsley keeper Dave Watson
as Town's new goalkeeping coach. 28-year-old Watson had to terminate
his playing career due to injury.
July 3rd
Huddersfield Town made their first signing under manager Mick
Wadsworth when they announced that 19-year-old, Australian-born,
striker, Scott MacDonald, on a 3 month loan, from Southampton.
July 1st
Huddersfield Town have announced that Mick Wadsworth as the
new Town manager.
51-year-old Wadsworth was manager of Oldham Athletic until a month
ago. He has also managed Scarborough, Colchester and Carlise. Other
posts in his CV include Head Coach with Newcastle, England Youth
coach, assistant manager with Norwich and Southampton and Youth
Coach at Barnsley.
June 25th
In a blow to the aspirations of fans and board alike, last season's
player of the year and top scorer with 17 goals, Leon Knight, has
signed a season-long loan agreement with First Division Sheffield
Wednesday.
Sacked boss Lou Macari was confident of signing Knight on loan for
a further season but it appears that Chelsea wanted him to experience
life in a higher division.
June 15th
In the newly-released fixture list the Terriers have one or
two interesting matches throughout the 2002-2003 season.
The opening game is a home fixture against Town's victors in the
play-off's - Brentford. This will be a chance to gain revenge for
the defeat at Griffin Park at the end of last season.
On Boxing Day Huddersfield are at home to Tranmere Rovers and on
New Year's Day they travel to Blackpool.

June 14th
Huddersfield Town have announced that they have terminated the
contract of Lou Macari with immediate effect. Also axed were his
assistant, Joe Jordan and coach Ashley Grimes.
June 11th
Huddersfield Town today announced that they had failed in their
talks with Kevin Gray over a new one year contract and the defender
will not be playing for the Terriers next season. Gray has been
with the club for 8 years.
May 17th
Jon Dyson, Chris Hay and Chris Beech, have not been offered
new contracts by the club as Huddersfield continue with their cost-cutting
exercise. Huddersfield-born Dyson is at the end of his testimonial
year and has been with the club for 10 years.
Players offered new contracts are Martyn Margetson, Delroy Facey
and Kevin Gray whilst the other professionals whose contacts excpired
at the endo of last season have been offered monthly contracts by
the club. These include Michael Senior, Phil Senior and Nathan Brown.
May 8th
Town announced a price increase of 50p, at the gate, for adults
in all areas of the ground or £10 on adult season tickets
for next season but have also offered some great 'Early Bird' season
ticket deals.
There are also a number of added benefits for season ticket holders.
