November 2001November 24th The first half was a lively affair with both sides promising to make a breakthrough but they had to settle for even honours as the referee signalled half-time. In the second half it was Town who broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when loan striker Leon Knight made it 6 goals from 7 games with a long shot that caught the Vale keeper napping and went into the back of the net. But, as has happened too often this season, Town were made to pay for some sloppy defending and in the 81st minute Cummins outjumped the Town defence to head home a Carragher cross.
November 20th This was a hard fought game for the Terriers but they did enough to earn victory and close the gap on the leaders of the division. But instead the one point meant that Town's promotion-aspiring contenders drew ever closer to Town's points tally and Brentford climbed to the top of the table. Town showed a doggedness that suggested they were hungry for a result and in the 56th minute Knight managed to fire the ball home at the third attempt after successful blocks by the keeper from Booth and Irons. Town could have had another goal shortly afterwards but both Booth and Knight were denied and it was left to Burgess to steal a point when he slotted home in a goalmouth scramble.
November 18th November 17th The visitors took the lead in the second minute and could have added to the score but for the the referee indicating that a foul had been committed by a Gravesend player as they got the ball in the back of the net. In the second half, no doubt with their ears still ringing from Lou Macari's team talk, Town managed to pull a goal back in the 62nd minute when Moses lashed the ball home. Gravesend had further chances to grab the glory but it was Town who managed to grab the winner through Knight as the match drew to a close.
November 9th
November 3rd The first half was plaudits were divided equally with both sides attacking and creating chances but it was Schofield who poached a goal after the Oldham keeper could only parry a shot from Leon Knight into the path of Schofield. Both defences were tested on a number of occasion but proved equal to the task apart from the Town goal. After the break the Terriers lost target man Andy Booth to injury and, with his departure from the field of play, Town were limited to punting the ball up the field, hoping that Knight or Hay could latch on to the ball. Oldham dealt with this tactic comfortably and were thus given the opportunity to build on their attacks and in the 75th minute Balmer managed to get a toe onto a Sheridan free kick and poke the ball into the Town net. This acted as a spur for the home team and for the last 15 minutes of the game Huddersfield were forced onto the defensive and were relieved to hear the final whistle.
