Jeff Buckley-
Grace
Singer/ songwriter Buckley made this album in 1994 and it
remains a classic by which other musicians are measured. His
vocal range is tremendous and the tracks on the album are
crafted beautifully giving the listener an aural delight.
Buckley, the son of Tim Buckley died in 1997. |
Manic Street Preachers-
Forever Delayed
This is one of the modern albums reviewed in these pages but
give it a few listens and you will be hooked. Good solid rock
from these Welsh wizards. Includes a tremendous version of
the MASH theme, Suicide Is Painless. An excellent record! |

John Martyn -
Solid Air
Another vastly underrated singer songwriter. This folksy,
bluesy, jazzy album should be a must in every record collectors
collection.Apart from the title track there are 9 other class
songs including Don't Want To Know and May You Never. |
|
Rod Stewart -
Unplugged
This album was obtained solely on the quality of one track
- Handbags and Gladrags. Stewart is in his prime in this
Unplugged scenario and several of his classic tracks are
rendered beautifully including Reason To Believe, Maggie
May and Stay With Me.

Van Morrison -
Astral Weeks
This really is an album that deserves the title "classic"!
Every track is brilliantly written and performed by Van
the Man! From Sweet Thing through Cyprus Avenue, Way Young
Lovers Do and Beside You to Madame George every one's a
winner.

Van Morrison -
Veedon Fleece
The tracks on this 1974 album were written after Morrison
returned to his native Ireland and is beautifully written.
Not as good as Astral Weeks but not far off. Well worth
a listen.
