"Walk On" In Leven

Last night was the coldest night of the year so far in Leven but it was warm and cosy in the Caledonian Hotel, where the Lassies were glowing and the pints were flowing.

Leven's Coast, Scotland

Fife's top duo were playing music from a bygone era but their sounds were silenced by a party of foul-mouthed, noisy, drunken revellers and, yes you've guessed it, they were all girls!
The management actually dismissed the band half way through the gig because they weren't loud enough, how times have changed eh?
It's the same when there's footba' here on the big screen.
It's the girls that are swigging from the pint glasses, going berserk when Celtic score a goal and shouting obscenities at the Rangers supporters in the bar who are stroking their little bottles of Bud.
It's rugby next...........!

A View of Leven Town

Today soccer superstar Ally McCoist is due to arrive in town to open Ashok Sharma's (who?) new supermarket.
At the official opening Ally will spend a couple of hours chatting to customers, signing autographs and presenting signed footballs to the good citizens of Leven (who will probably try to eat, smoke or drink them!).
Several local businesses have said that they are pleased to be associated with Sharma and wish him continued success, watch out for the girls Ally!

Here on Leven beach, in the biting wind, I'm nursing a thumping headache.
Last night I had 6 pints of "heavy", this morning a multivitamin pill.
My pals tell me I have to slow down so from now on it's no more vitamins for me!

Rolling Down to the Firth of Forth

Leven is an attractive coastal town on the other side of the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh.
On a clear day you can see the smog cloud..

It has traditional sandy beaches and is surrounded by numerous 9 and 18 hole golf courses.
During the summer months families from all over Scotland invade the caravan park, situated on the beach, in search of rest and relaxation..

Today on this cold autumn morning my wanderings begin here in the gateway to the East Neuk of Fife.
The dreaded No 95 bus failed to pick me up (and do I need a pick-me-up!) so I have decided to walk to my first destination, Lower Largo,  which is a couple of miles along the beach in a north-easterly direction.
Snow showers were forecast for today but my instincts told me it would be a fine fresh, fair day.

Wandering Willie.
